ROVEMA Packaging Machine Refurbishment: Step by Step

Refurbishing a ROVEMA packaging machine to like-new condition doesn’t happen overnight. At DL Packaging, we dedicate a great deal of time and attention to every machine to ensure it performs exactly as our customers expect. In this blog, we take you behind the scenes at DLPACK and show how we give ROVEMA machines a Second Life.

Once the customer has confirmed the order, we get started on the project. Depending on the selected upgrade package, the machine may undergo mechanical maintenance, be fitted with new electronics or be completely rebuilt. With a Platinum upgrade (our most popular option), we essentially build a completely new machine within the existing machine frame. The result is a tailor-made refurbished machine that is 100% suited to the new owner's requirements.

A complete refurbishment consists of eight steps, from order to delivery:

  1. The machine is completely dismantled. All components are removed, and most are disposed of.
  2. The machine is professionally repainted. A specialist company applies a completely new paint finish.
  3. Meanwhile, we assemble the new electrical control cabinet in our workshop. This is fitted with the latest Siemens electronics or ROVEMA P@ck-Control, including the operating system.
  4. The machine is rebuilt to like-new condition. In accordance with the agreed specifications and the customer's packaging requirements, the machine is fitted with new motors, sealing jaws, format sets and other components.
  5. The new electrical control cabinet is installed on the machine.
  6. Any additional equipment is integrated. This may include a labelling unit or printer.
  7. The dosing system is installed. For example, a screw dosing system can be mounted on the machine.
  8. A test run is carried out using the customer's own packaging film and product.

From Refurbishment to Commissioning

Every project is unique and is carried out by our team of specialists with great craftsmanship and attention to detail. Once the machine operates as required and the packaging meets all specifications, it is ready for transport and commissioning. Wherever in the world the machine is going, DL Packaging works closely with the local ROVEMA organisation to ensure a smooth installation on site. We also make sure that your operators know how to operate and maintain the machine to keep it in optimal condition.
