ROVEMA BVC 260 packaging machine for coffee beans in stand-up pouches
In collaboration with Rovema Poland, we delivered a Rovema BVC 260 vertical packaging machine to a customer in Poland for coffee bean packaging. The project was part of the customer’s expansion into a new production hall, where they were looking for an automated packaging solution matching the performance, flexibility, and reliability of their existing Rovema equipment. The BVC 260 offers dedicated format sets for both 500 g and 1 kg coffee bags, achieving speeds of up to 50 bags per minute for 500 g and 25 bags per minute for 1 kg bags.
Tailor-made packaging solution for customer requirements
The BVC 260 was configured to meet the customer's production needs, including the required production capacity and integration with additional equipment. To achieve the desired bag appearance, the machine was equipped with a stand-up pouch device. A heat-sealed valve application and gas flushing system using nitrogen were also integrated to create a modified atmosphere (MAP), meeting the packaging requirements for premium coffee. Every element was selected based on the customer’s specific requirements, ensuring that only the necessary features were included in the solution and that it matched their production needs.
Protecting freshness from roasting to packaging
Coffee beans continue to release CO₂ after roasting, making the packaging process essential for maintaining quality. The integrated degassing valve allows CO₂ to escape while preventing oxygen from entering the package, helping preserve aroma and extend shelf life. To ensure consistent package quality, the system includes missing valve detection, preventing bags without a correctly applied valve from continuing through the production process. Combined with controlled nitrogen flushing and reliable sealing technology, the solution supports consistent coffee quality from production to the consumer.
Designed to keep production running
Every detail of the solution is designed to support efficient daily operation. To support operators in their daily work, clear mechanical adjustment points are indicated on both the HMI and the machine, allowing settings to be identified and adjusted quickly. Integrated diagnostics help operators troubleshoot issues faster, minimizing unnecessary downtime. Whenever additional support or spare parts are needed, customers can of course rely on their local Rovema.
