SBS packaging rice in 1-2 kg block bottom bags with top fold & label for Belgian customer

In August 2025, DL Packaging supplied a refurbished SBS Brick Pack machine to a rice packer in Belgium. This machine was integrated with a VPK 260 Vertical Form-Fill-Seal machine, creating a packaging line for 1–2 kg block bottom bags with top fold and label.

Custom solution

Together with the client, DL Packaging examined what was needed to achieve the desired result. This resulted in a tailor-made proposal combining refurbished SBS and VFFS technology. We also offer options to expand the line with both new and refurbished components, such as SmartDate printers, formingset, and the block bottom/side folding device chosen in this case. Already have equipment? No problem, we adapt to your setup. 

After delivery, a DL Packaging service technician will be scheduled for on-site installation and commissioning, ensuring the machine is installed correctly and runs smoothly in the customer’s production environment.

Refurbished and tested

The SBS machine was fully refurbished in our workshop, with all necessary parts replaced and control systems checked. The machine was tested using the customer’s film, rice product, and existing cup filler, which was provided to ensure full integration and compatibility.

Before delivery, we invite the customer for a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). Our specialists are present to demonstrate the machine and answer any questions directly.

SBS or stand-alone VFFS?

A stand-alone VFFS machine forms, fills, and seals bags vertically from film, suitable for fast and flexible packaging of various bag types.

An SBS line includes an integrated VFFS unit, followed by additional folding and compression steps to create compact, robust, and stackable brick packs. The result is a more stable and durable bag suitable for premium shelf presentation and efficient transport. SBS lines are often used for products like coffee, rice, or pet food.
